Audioscrobbler and Yahoo Music Engine

I just found out about a new online service called Audioscrobbler that keeps track of what music you listen to. Most music players do this now, but I think it’s much more interesting when you can view the data on the web. I’m looking forward to trying this out, but their servers are having trouble right now and I keep getting UNREADABLE errors when my music player tries to submit data.

I’ve been using Yahoo Music Engine lately too because I think it’s totally worth $5/month to be able to listen to whatever I want, especially since I’m in front of a computer all day at work. The music player is even pretty good. I had been using MusicMatch Jukebox for it’s very full featured music library features, but it’s so slow and clunky. I’ve always liked Winamp and it appears they even have a good music library feature now, but I don’t think you can play downloaded music from Yahoo Music Engine in Winamp.

Anyway, the point of that music player side track was that there’s a Yahoo Music Engine plugin for Audioscrobbler, but I don’t know if it works and there’s no documentation on it. I guess we’ll find out once Audioscrobbler’s servers work again.
